You will study under qualified faculty who are excited to see you succeed whether it be in performing, leading congregational singing, or leading choirs and orchestras. In addition to the intense music focus, you are also given the quality Bible education Faith is known for. This Bible training prepares you for excellence in music and in church leadership. Because of the academic excellence of Faith as well as our accreditation, a degree in Sacred Music also opens up opportunities for further study of music in graduate schools and conservatories. Courses • Sacred Music Stephan Lounsbrough (’10), Pastor of Worship Arts and Grow Groups I greatly appreciated the unique opportunity afforded me at Faith to receive sound biblical instruction alongside quality musical opportunities. Having a desire to not only use music in church ministry, but also to be immersed in the broader musical scene, I jumped into basically all of the musical opportunities Faith had to offer. I played in the orchestra, sang in choir, took lessons in violin and piano, led singing in chapels, and was even able to fill in conducting and substitute teaching. I was fortunate enough to travel to Europe on the chorale’s Germany and Netherlands tour and also to cross the U.S. twice in a van on a traveling singing team. I still glean from my various experiences and education at Faith in the ministry God has called me to now. For more information, contact Dr. Irv Van Hooser, chair of the Music Ministries Department.
