Mrs. Sally McFarling to Retire After 35 Years at Faith

The spring semester at Faith Baptist Bible College will be a bittersweet one for Mrs. Sally McFarling, who will be retiring after 35 years at Faith.

Mrs. McFarling is the chair of Office Administration, serving as a teacher of the office courses at Faith. She has also served as a faculty secretary and has assisted on numerous committees in her career, including the Communications Task Force, Christian Service, and Program Chair.

Over the last 35 years, Mrs. McFarling has appreciated working with students who love the Lord and have a strong desire to serve Him. She has been especially appreciative to teach at a college where she can integrate Biblical principles throughout her courses. Her former students have had successful careers utilizing their skills in various office positions, some right on Faith’s campus.

“I love walking through Jordan Hall and seeing so many of my Office Administration students serving in the offices there!” said Mrs. McFarling.

She believes it is the people on the campus of Faith that sets it apart from other schools.

“Faith has highly qualified administrators, faculty, and staff who have a real desire to serve the Lord and to reach others for Christ,” said Mrs. McFarling. “Our college provides a setting where people really care about you and will pray for you and with you. We have an outstanding reputation in our community, and many employers specifically seek workers from our student body because of their integrity and strong work ethic.”

Mrs. McFarling has been blessed with a son, daughter, and eight grandchildren (four grandsons and four granddaughters). Her first great-granddaughter was born in October. She looks forward to the opportunity to spend more time with them in her retirement.

Some of her favorite memories at Faith include spending time with students and colleagues and attending various events on campus, such as Bible Conferences, Missions Conferences, Refresh Conferences, concerts, and games.

“It has truly been an honor to be able to serve alongside so many godly people,” said Mrs. McFarling. “I will really miss teaching here at Faith. However, you will still be seeing me around as I do plan to continue to attend the various events taking place on campus.”
