Faith Welcomes Charlie Carter and Rachel Palma as Assistant Deans of Men and Women

The Student Life Department at Faith will feature several changes for the upcoming school year.  The biggest change will be a new face to the department as Charlie Carter has joined the team as the new Assistant Dean of Men.  For the women, Rachel Palma has transitioned roles from an Administrative Assistant to the new Assistant Dean of Women.

Both Carter and Palma are Faith graduates and have a strong passion for discipleship.  Carter graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College in 2014 and from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary in 2017.  Palma is a 2010 graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College.

Charlie Carter joins the Faith staff after serving as an Associate Pastor at Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Iowa since 2015.   Carter has a unique testimony and a strong relationship and connection with Faith’s Dean of Students, Brandon Fritz.  Charlie was saved as a freshman in high school while attending a youth service that Fritz was leading.  He’s excited to work alongside Brandon and for his opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students.

“We need good pastors and missionaries and I have an opportunity to have an influence on generations of them,” said Charlie.  “There will always be students that come in that are training for ministry and we’re going to help get them into the ministry field.  Then there will be some students who have no idea what they want to do, and we want to train them to be followers of Christ no matter what field they go into.”

Charlie is an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and loves the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

Rachel Palma is a familiar face to Faith students, having served in the Student Life Department the last four years.

Palma is originally from Moorhead, Minnesota, and worked at a local bank after her graduation in 2010 before joining the Faith staff in July 2014.

She grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of five.  Palma was a Resident Assistant at Faith for two years during her time as an undergraduate.  She is excited to invest herself in the lives of students in her new role as Assistant Dean of Women.

Rachel enjoys the outdoors, reading, and spending time with family.

The Student Life Department plans to move back into their original location in the Nettleton Center once construction is complete on the new Office and Music Building this fall or winter.
