Online Orientation Instructions

Online Student Orientation to the Canvas Learning Management System
All students enrolled in courses using Canvas are required to complete a one-time online orientation to Canvas, the learning management system used at Faith. Some of the topics covered in the orientation course include how to be successful in an online learning course, how to get your computer ready to use Canvas, and navigating and using Canvas for your coursework.

This self-paced orientation is available in Canvas once you have received your Faith username and password and after you have registered for an online course. You should complete this orientation prior to the start of classes. On average the orientation should take approximately two hours. Students can access their Canvas courses on the first day of class only if they have completed and passed the orientation course.

Taking the Canvas Student Orientation
Faith Username/Password—To log into Canvas and take the Canvas Student Orientation, you will need to know your Faith username and password.

Log into Canvas—Use your Faith username for your Canvas username and your Faith password as your Canvas password.

Taking the Canvas Orientation—After you log into Canvas, click on the Course link at the top of the page and select “Online Student Orientation." To start taking the orientation, follow the directions on the welcome page of the course. You will then need to work your way through each of the learning modules, in order, until you complete the Final Review. Once you have completed the final section of the orientation, the online staff will enroll you in your online course.
