Statement about Pillsbury's Closing
October 22, 2008

Dear Friends,

My heart is heavy, as I know yours is, to hear that Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, Minnesota, has decided to close and will cease academic activities at the end of this semester.

Pillsbury has long stood for the Word of God. We have for many years viewed our brothers and sisters at Pillsbury not as competitors but as partners in preparing men and women for lifetimes of ministry.

I have been in contact with Dr. Huffman, Pillsbury’s new president, regarding their closure. As you can imagine, there are many issues that must be addressed which will affect currents students, faculty and staff, and the alumni and churches that claim Pillsbury as a meeting point.

I have assured Dr. Huffman that we here at Faith are available to help students affected by this change. Students currently attending Pillsbury are welcome to transfer to Faith, and we are prepared to work with individual students to make their transitions as smooth as possible regarding financial assistance and transfer of academic credits.

Please pray with me for the many men and women affected by Pillsbury’s closing. Though we are saddened by this loss, our confidence in the Word of God and our dedication to preparing future Christian leaders is unhindered.

In Christ,

James D. Maxwell, III
President
