Meet Stephanie Brown

Hometown: Elyria, Ohio
Major: Missionary Nursing
Year: Sophomore
Did you get a chance to visit campus? How was that experience?
I had visited Faith 3 times before I decided to go. The first time I was a freshman in high school. I wasn't too impressed because I thought it was way too cold. The second time was in between my junior and senior years of high school for a volleyball camp, and I enjoyed it. I then visited in March 2010 and absolutely loved it. For once I felt like this was exactly where God wanted me to be. The people here were very friendly and willing to help me with anything.
How was your overall experience with the Admissions Department?
It was great! I could not believe how caring people could truly be. At so many other schools I felt like I was just another number. But with Faith I felt a genuine concern from others for what God wanted for my life, whether that was attending Faith Baptist Bible College or not.
Why did you choose Faith?
I had attended a Christian liberal arts school and also a community college before I transferred to Faith, so I was very familiar with all different types of schooling. But Faith was different. I loved the fact that they emphasized Bible and ministry throughout everything. No other school I had been to made that their focus, and when I visited here that is one of the first things I noticed. I love being a part of ministry and am thankful for a school that encourages and requires us to be a part of it:I have never been a part of something like this and I love it.
What would you say to others thinking about coming to Faith?
Well, first of all, pray. God can do so much through our prayers to Him. And it never hurts to come and visit. I was struggling with the decision to transfer here, but when I visited, God opened my eyes to all that I could accomplish here at this great Christian college. I thank God everyday for blessing me with such a great environment, and I am truly excited to see what God is going to do with my life thanks to the ministry of Faith Baptist Bible College.
What was the transition like from visitor to student? Did it take you a while to start to fit in?
At first I was pretty worried about the people situation. Being a transfer student, I had already been through the meeting many new people process and was not sure how it would go over here at Faith. In the end I realized how friendly and nice people are here and had no problem at all meeting everyone. God has truly blessed me with some great friends already in my first semester here. What an awesome blessing!
How was your experience with the Registrar's Office?
It was very smooth. They informed me concerning all of the credits that transferred, which was almost every credit, and explained how that would fit into my remaining years here at Faith.
What are your favorite parts about being a student so far at Faith?
I love it all. The environment and people are all great! It's awesome to have one common bond in Christ, despite all the different cultures, backgrounds, and interests. Also, I love the classes; it's so refreshing to be able to dig into God's Word everyday and learn more and more about Him.

5. Submit Transfer Reference
Ask a non-relative teacher from the school you are transferring from to submit the Student Transfer Reference form [link to reference form] online or mail in the paper reference form. Ask each postsecondary institution you attended to send Faith the official transcripts of credits. These transcripts must bear the original seal and signature of the official in charge of records at those institutions.
Students from accredited schools normally will receive full credit for equivalent courses, (1) providing that grades are "C" or above, and (2) the courses parallel requirements outlined in the academic major at Faith. Courses from nonaccredited schools will be evaluated on the merits of the schools attended.
