Presidential Search Update
The search process has been a special blessing as we have diligently and systematically sought the next president for Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary. Our goal has been to find a highly qualified and dedicated man of vision who can lead us onward and forward.
We are convinced we have found that man in Rev. James R. Tillotson who has accepted our unanimous invitation to be the next president of FBBC&TS. Rev. Tillotson is currently the senior pastor of Meadowlands Baptist Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He brings experience and a record of achievement by building and planting churches in Canada while growing his congregation. Along with his successful pastoral ministry, his strengths include leadership and administration and an executive perspective of finance and organization.
We believe Rev. Tillotson will inspire excellence in others and will advance the mission of FBBC&TS through an effective relationship with the board of directors, administration, faculty, and staff. President Tillotson and his wife, Joan, will also be outstanding mentors and models to our students to help them become successful vocational Christian workers and leaders.
We believe President Tillotson will be an eager spokesman capable of developing new relationships as well as representing our current constituents and friends in a meaningful way. With his experience President Tillotson will build on our focus of “With the Word to the World” as he provides an environment for growth and global ministry opportunities.
The board extends a special “thank you” to Dr. James D. Maxwell III for continuing as president through December 2013, six months past his scheduled retirement, and to Dr. Ernie Schmidt and his wife, Gen, for coming out of retirement to serve as the interim president since January 2014. Dr. Schmidt will continue in that role for the next few months as President Tillotson transitions to Faith later this summer.
Most of all, we on the Search Committee thank you for all of your prayers and support through this process. Along with the 14 men who made up the Search Committee, we also involved administrative staff at Faith and others outside of FBBC&TS who served as references.
We believe President Jim Tillotson will build our enrollment, enhance the campus, and develop and enable new constituents to join the family and friends of Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary. He will also lead our current and future students with a spirit of academic excellence and a desire to serve the Lord around the world.
Can you tell . . . we’re excited!
