Reading Endorsement Courses
Christian schools are increasingly looking for teachers with reading endorsements. Having this endorsement will add to your credentials. Taking these online courses may also satisfy continuing education requirements.
The Christian School Department is authorized by the Iowa Department of Education to offer the K-8 Iowa Reading Endorsement. Four of the required courses are offered as part of the education major at Faith. They are:
• Children's Literature
• Adolescent Literature
• Content Area Reading in the Elementary
• Content Area Reading in the Secondary
The remaining three courses can be taken online to complete the course requirements for the reading endorsement.
• Language Acquisition and Development
• Reading Instructional Strategies
• Reading Practicum
You will need to complete an application online and then send in the following:
• Two completed Pastor/Christian Worker reference forms (cannot be completed by relatives)
• College transcripts
If you are a current Faith student, contact the Registrar's Office to enroll in these classes.
Tuition: $417 per credit hour
Online Technology Fee: $25 per credit hour
A one-time matriculation fee of $50 may be charged to new students enrolling in a degree program.
At this time, online courses at Faith are not eligible for financial aid or scholarships.
