Sexual Abuse Policy
Definition
Any form of verbal and/or physical sexual activity, harassment, or abuse by any individual against any other person of either sex, outside of wedlock, with or without consent, constitutes sexual abuse. Within wedlock, the above would apply only without consent. All degrees of sexual abuse as stated in Vol. III, Code of Iowa, 1991, Chapter 709, are included and expanded in this definition.
Counseling
Every person who is a victim of sexual misconduct is to counsel with one or more of the following: Dean of Men, Dean of Women, other administrator, faculty member, or an area pastor.
Security
This institution provides security and maintenance personnel who are on duty 24 hours a day. Security personnel are responsible for patrolling the campus, checking campus buildings and dormitories, letting students into dorms after hours, and watching for their safety.
Reporting
Non-Emergency
Security personnel are equipped with a mobile phone.
If help is needed, call 210-6563 to speak directly to a Security person.
Emergency
In case of serious emergency, dial 911. Then call 210-6563 to inform Security.
If you witness a crime, or if you have been victimized by a crime, you must report any such incidents immediately. Any circumstantial evidence left behind at the scene of such crimes should not be disturbed.
